Morocco's king calls again for open land border with Algeria |

King Mohammed VI renewed Morocco's call for open land borders with neighbouring Algeria on Wednesday (July 29th) during his Throne Day address to the public.
"We will continue to take honest initiatives and respond to all goodwill intentions in order to normalise Moroccan-Algerian relations," the king said in his speech.

Morocco has long been a mecca for foreign filmmakers. Iconic films like The Last Temptation of Christ and Lawrence of Arabia, as well as more recent films Rendition and Black Hawk Down, use Morocco as their backdrop. Other films like Babel utilize more than Morocco's landscape, taking its culture and people into account as well. Morocco's own burgeoning film industry has produced international hits over the past few years as well: Nabil Ayouch's Ali Zaoua, prince de la rue made waves abroad, drawing comparisons to the inimitable Brazilian film City of God, while 2006's MaRock was particularly notable for its female director, Laïla Marrakchi.

WB grants Morocco USD 100Mn loan to back public administration reform |

The World Bank (WB) administration board approved, on Thursday, a USD 100Mn loan to fund the program of public administration reform in Morocco, a press release of the world finance institution said.
The loan that will be paid out by the international bank for reconstruction and development (IBRD), is to benefit from an 8-year grace period and is repayable over 20 years.
