L'Organisation mondiale de la Santé de la méditerranée orientale (Emro) s'inquiète de la progression du nombre de fumeurs de chicha. Elle rappelle que la dangerosité de la pipe à eau en termes sanitaires est aussi importante, si ce n'est plus, que celle de la cigarette.
Fumer la chicha peut être aussi nocif que fumer la cigarette. C'est le message que l'Organisation mondiale de la Santé de la méditerranée orientale (Emro) souhaite faire passer chez les fumeurs de pipe à eau, qui ont tendance à penser que la chicha n'a aucune incidence sur la santé. Sur le continent africain, la plupart des consommateurs de ce tabac se concentrent dans le Nord.
Morocco and South Korea signed a co-operation agreement covering the tourism sector on Friday (19 May) in Rabat. The agreement, signed upon completing the work of the 4th Joint Economic and Technical Commission, aims to highlight the opportunities of tourism investments in Morocco and benefit the tourism department of the Korean expertise in the information technology and strategic planning through technical trainings.
The 4th economic and technical joint commission discussed also the importance of a Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, considering their geographical location and the similarities in their economies. The South Korean side voiced readiness to support the efforts made in Morocco in economy liberalization.
Morocco launched a national strategy for gender equality aimed at reducing the gap between men and women through the full participation of women in the development process in all fields on Thursday (18 May) in Rabat. The strategy, which was presented by the State Secretariat in charge of the Family, Childhood and Handicapped People with the technical support of the German Co-operation for Development (GTZ) organisation, proposes five intervention fields, namely civic rights, decision-making, socio-economic rights, and individual and collective behaviours to face sexist stereotypes.
State Secretary Yasmina Baddou said her department will play a key role in implementing the strategy by working out a sector plan with measures to be taken and co-ordination schemes with the different operators.
